摘要:
Here, a broadband topological valley-locked waveguide state (TVWS) of elastic wave with adjustable mode width is reported in the phononic crystal plate with asymmetric double-sided pillars. The broadband topological bandgap is achieved by adjusting the height of triangular pillars. The TVWS with adjustable mode width is realized by adding a pillared phononic crystal (PPnC) with Dirac points between two valley PPnCs with distinct topological phase. The TVWS of elastic wave exhibits the properties of gapless dispersion and robustness against bends and disorders. Based on the TVWS, an elastic valley-locked waveguide splitter with variable mode width is further demonstrated.

Ta4C3 as one of the MXene has been widely investigated in the application of materials chemistry, biomedicine, electrochemical energy storage and other fields. However, the study of its optical properties and applications remains rare. In this work, few-layer Ta4C3 MXene are prepared and its optical properties and applications are systematically investigated. We develop few-layer Ta4C3 MXene through the liquid phase exfoliation (LPE) method, and prepare it as Ta4C3 saturable absorber (SA). To obtain femtosecond pulses, the Ta4C3-SA is inserted further to an erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) cavity. It is worth noting that in the experiment the EDFL composed of Ta4C3-SA can generate stable femtosecond pulses, and the spectral bandwidth and duration of the femtosecond pulses are 1559.6 nm and 350 fs, respectively. Meanwhile, the numerical simulation results consistent with the experimental results. The results reveal that Ta4C3 MXene has great application potential in nonlinear optics and ultrafast photonics. BACKGROUND: Numerous studies have investigated the clinical significance of securin expression in solid cancers; however, the results have been inconsistent. Hence, we performed a meta-analysis of published studies to assess the clinical value of securin expression in patients with solid cancers. METHODS: The Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Web of Science, PubMed, and EMDASE databases were searched for eligible studies (from inception up to April 2021). Bioinformatics analysis based on The Cancer Genome Atlas dataset was also performed to evaluate the prognostic value of securin expression. RESULTS: A total of 25 articles with 26 studies were included in the meta-analysis. The results of the meta-analysis implied that high securin expression was positively correlated with unfavorable overall survival (OS) (hazard ratio = 1.52, 95% CI, 1.33-1.73; P < .001) and lymph node metastasis (odd ratio = 2.96, 95% CI, 2.26-3.86; P < .001). Consistently, our bioinformatics analysis showed that increased securin expression was associated with worse OS and shorter disease-free survival in cancer patients. CONCLUSION: Our study indicated that securin overexpression was positively associated with metastasis and inversely related to the prognosis of patients with solid cancers. However, additional high-quality studies should be conducted to validate these findings.

摘要:
Aluminum (Al) coatings were deposited on Zr-4 alloy substrate by magnetron sputtering. The microstructure parameters of the as-deposited coating were characterized by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and electron backscattered scattering detection (EBSD). The results showed that: via the SEM and EDS, it can be found that Al atoms and Zr atoms undergo rapid interdiffusion at the interface, forming an Al-Zr diffusion layer with a thickness of about 1.5 mu m; via X-ray diffraction line broadening, the estimated crystal size was 81.53 nm and the as-deposited Al coating presences lattice tensile strain; via EBSD, the fraction of HAGBs is overwhelmingly larger than that of LAGBs and the mean grain size is 0.55 mu m, also, the Al coating exhibits the (100)<001> texture.

Eu was measured using the time-of-flight (TOF) technique at the Back-n white neutron source facility of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) in the 1eV–to 500keV range. Four C

liquid scintillator detectors and pulse height weighting techniques were used to measure prompt
$$\gamma $$

In the global context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the overall benefits of getting any COVID-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization for emergency use outweigh the potential risks, even in people with weakened immune systems, including people living with HIV (PLWH). At present, there are no reports of HIV/hepatitis B virus (HBV) co-infected patients receiving a booster dose of the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine. Here, we describe a patient with HIV/HBV co-infection who did not seroconvert to three doses of the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine.

Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) often have cognitive impairment and structural brain abnormalities. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based brain atrophy and lesion index can be used to evaluate common brain changes and their correlation with cognitive function, and can therefore also be used to reflect whole-brain structural changes related to T2DM. A total of 136 participants (64 men and 72 women, aged 55-86 years) were recruited for our study between January 2014 and December 2016. All participants underwent MRI and Mini-Mental State Examination assessment (including 42 healthy control, 38 T2DM without cognitive impairment, 26 with cognitive impairment but without T2DM, and 30 T2DM with cognitive impairment participants). The total and sub-category brain atrophy and lesion index scores in patients with T2DM with cognitive impairment were higher than those in healthy controls. Differences in the brain atrophy and lesion index of gray matter lesions and subcortical dilated perivascular spaces were found between non-T2DM patients with cognitive impairment and patients with T2DM and cognitive impairment. After adjusting for age, the brain atrophy and lesion index retained its capacity to identify patients with T2DM with cognitive impairment. These findings suggest that the brain atrophy and lesion index, based on T1-weighted and T2-weighted imaging, is of clinical value for identifying patients with T2DM and cognitive impairment. Gray matter lesions and subcortical dilated perivascular spaces may be potential diagnostic markers of T2DM that is complicated by cognitive impairment. This study was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of University of South China (approval No. USC20131109003) on November 9, 2013, and was retrospectively registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (registration No. ChiCTR1900024150) on June 27, 2019.

Arecoline, a major alkaloid of the areca nut, has potential toxicity to the nervous system. Our previous study reveals that the neurotoxicity of arecoline involves in inhibited endogenous hydrogen sulfide (H2S) generation. Therefore, the present study investigated whether exogenous H2S protects against arecoline-induced neurotoxicity and further explore the underlying mechanisms focusing on leptin/leptin receptor signaling pathway. The cell viability was measured by CCK-8 kit. The apoptosis were detected by Hoechst 33258 and Annexin V/PI (propidium iodide) staining. The protein expressions were determined by Western blot analysis. Our results demonstrated that NaHS, an exogenous H2S donor, significantly increases the cell viability, decreases apoptosis ratio, and reduces caspase-3 activity as well as Bax/Bcl-2 ratio in PC12 cells exposed to arecoline, indicating the protection of H2S against arecoline-induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis. Also, NaHS attenuated arecoline-induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, as evidenced by the decreases in the expressions of glucose-regulated protein 78 (GRP78), C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), and Cleaved caspase-12. Meanwhile, NaHS promoted leptin/leptin receptor signaling pathway in arecoline-exposed PC12 cells, as illustrated by upregulations of leptin and leptin receptor expressions. Furthermore, leptin tA, an antagonist of leptin receptor, obviously abolished the inhibitory effects of NaHS on arecoline-induced cytotoxicity, apoptosis, and ER stress in arecoline-exposed PC12 cells. Taken together, these results suggested that H2S prevents arecoline-induced neurotoxicity via enhancing the leptin/leptin receptor signaling pathway.

Corynebacterium accounts for around 20% of the armpit microbiome and plays an essential role in axillary osmidrosis (AO). In this study, the effects of Lactobacillus bulgaricus treatment on the microecological environment of armpits and its efficacy in the treatment of AO were investigated. A total of 10 AO patients were enrolled in this study. The patients were treated with L. bulgaricus mixed with saline on the left armpit (experimental group) and pure saline on the right armpit (control group) for 28 days. After treatment, AO severity showed a significant decrease (p = 0.013) in the experimental group compared with the control group, and the Corynebacterium abundance also showed a corresponding significant decrease (p < 0.01). Moreover, no significant variation in Staphylococcus abundance was found between these two groups. The microbe diversity is not disturbed in the treatment. Accordingly, our study demonstrates that L. bulgaricus can serve as an effective probiotic microbe for AO treatment by reducing the abundance of Corynebacterium and rebalancing the microecological environment.
