摘要:
The transmission characteristics of the electromagnetic wave are numerically investigated in two-dimensional compound plasmonic structures composed of two straight subwavelength metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguides and a ring resonator. The two straight MIM waveguides situate on both sides of the ring resonator, and the MIM waveguide of the outgoing side has a positional angular deviation θrelative to the MIM waveguide of the incoming side. The results show that the filtering performances of the asymmetric structures (θ≠0 °) are greatly improved in comparison with the symmetric structure (θ= 0 °). For most of the asymmetric structures, there is a transmission minimum at the slightly bigger wavelength than one at which the transmission peak appears for the symmetric structures, and there is still a transmission peak at the wavelength of the transmission peak of the symmetric structures. Moreover, the difference between the transmission peak and valley is increased, and the breadth of the transmission peak becomes narrow. ©2013 Xiang Zhai et al.

In the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach, we study the direct CP violation in B-0,B-+/- --> rho(0)(omega)pi(0,+/-) --> pi(+)pi(-)pi(0,+/-) via the rho-omega mixing mechanism. We find that the CP violation can be enhanced due to a large strong phase difference when the masses of the pi(+)pi(-) pairs are in the vicinity of the omega resonance. Taking into account the rho-omega mixing, we also compare the CP violation from the naive factorization approach, QCD factorization approach, and PQCD approach. Based on the B-0(B) over bar (0) mixing, we discuss the effects of (B) over bar B-0(0) mixing for the total CP violation of B-0 --> rho(0)(omega)pi(0) --> pi(+)pi(-)pi(0), which is time dependent.

摘要:
The possibility of producing attosecond x-rays through Thomson scattering of laser light off laser-driven relativistic electron beams is investigated. For a ≤200-as, tens-MeV electron bunch produced with laser ponderomotive-force acceleration in a plasma wire, exceeding 106 photons/s in the form of ∼160 as pulses in the range of 3-300 keV are predicted, with a peak brightness of ≥5 × 1020 photons/(s mm2 mrad 2 0.1% bandwidth). Our study suggests that the physical scheme discussed in this work can be used for an ultrafast (attosecond) x-ray source, which is the most beneficial for time-resolved atomic physics, dubbed "attosecond physics." © 2013 AIP Publishing LLC.

摘要:
The paper will present a method based on the accumulation chamber technique for measuring of radon exhalation from the medium surface. A radon monitor traces the change of radon concentration in the accumulation chamber, and then the radon exhalation can be obtained accurately through linear fit. Based on our recent experiments, the radon exhalation rate from the medium surface obtained from this method is in good agreement with the actual exhalation rate of our simulation facility. This method is superior to the competition method which obtains the radon exhalation through the exponential fit by an external PC-system. The calculation for the exponential fit is very easy by computer and related software. However, for portable instruments, the single chip microcomputer can't calculate the exponential fit rapidly. Thus, this method is usable for developing the new portable instrument to classify building materials, etc. © 2012 Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, Hungary.

摘要:
A numerical simulation of the energy deposition distribution in semiconductors is performed for 63Ni beta particles. Results show that the energy deposition distribution exhibits an approximate exponential decay law. A simple theoretical model is developed for 63Ni betavoltaic battery based on the distribution characteristics. The correctness of the model is validated by two literature experiments. Results show that the theoretical short-circuit current agrees well with the experimental results, and the open-circuit voltage deviates from the experimental results in terms of the influence of the PN junction defects and the simplification of the source. The theoretical model can be applied to 63Ni and 147Pm betavoltaic batteries. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd.

摘要:
This work concerns directly the extraction of gadolinium from Gd 2O3by co-reduction with Al3+in theLiCl-KCl-AlCl3molten salts on the molybdenum and aluminum electrode, respectively, at temperatureof 773 K. Gibbs energy calculation shows that AlCl3 can favorably chloridize Gd2O3and release Gd3+ions. The electrochemical behaviors of Al3+, Gd3+ and the mechanisms of alloy formation were investi-gated by conducting a series of electrochemical techniques. Four typical signals were observed in cyclicvoltammetry, square wave voltammetry and chronopotentiometry, while five plateaus were observedin open circuit chronopotentiometry, which might correspond to different kinds of Gd-Al intermetalliccompounds. Potentiostatic and galvanostatic electrolysis were conducted to extract gadolinium from theLiCl-KCl-AlCl3melts by the co-reduction method, and it was found that if the molybdenum cathode wasused, GdAl2 particles would be deposited and adhere to a large amount of salt electrolytes. In contrast,when the aluminum plate was used as the cathode, a layer formed by potentiostatic electrolysis cor-responding to an intermetallic compound (GdAl3) and three layers formed by galvanostatic electrolysiscorresponding to three different Gd-Al intermetallic compounds such as GdAl3, GdAl 2 and GdAl couldbe collected and identified through scanning electron microscopy (SEM)-energy dispersive X-ray (EDX)and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. Besides, electroextractions of gadolinium by co-reduction with Al 3+ on the aluminum electrode have been performed with extraction efficiency of 89.7% for potentiostaticelectrolysis and 96.5% for galvanostatic electrolysis, respectively. © 2013 The Authors. 摘要:
Intense Compton-scattering γ-ray radiation driven by laser wakefield acceleration (LWFA) and generation of ultrashort positron beams are investigated by Monte Carlo simulation. Using an LWFA driven GeV electron bunch and a 45 femtosecond, 90 mJ/pulse, and 10AˆHz Ti:Sapphire laser for driving the Compton scattering, fs γ-ray pulses were generated. The latter have a flux of ≥10<sup>8</sup>/s, peak brightness of ≥10<sup>20</sup> photons/(s mm<sup>2</sup> mrad<sup>2</sup> 0.1% bandwidth), and photon energy of 5.9 to 23.2AˆMeV. The γ-ray pulses then impinge on a thin high-Z target. More than 10<sup>7</sup> positrons/s in the form of sub-100 fs pulses at several MeV can be produced. Such ultrashort positron pulses can be useful as the pump-probe type positron annihilation spectroscopy as well as in other applications. Copyright ©Cambridge University Press 2012.

A novel method was proposed to measure the radon exhalation rate in only one measurement cycle. We obtain the radon concentration variety regulation in the internal cell of the RAD7 by analyzing the work principle of RAD7 and the radon concentration variety regulation in the ventilation-type accumulation chamber when the effects of leakage and back diffusion are neglected. This method uses the measured value before the radon concentration in the ventilation-type accumulation chamber reaches a steady state. Several radon exhalation rate measurements of the medium surface have been performed in the Radon Laboratory of the University of South China. The radon exhalation rates obtained by verification experiments are in good agreement with the reference value. This simple, accurate and fast method can be applied to develop and improve the instruments for measuring radon exhalation rates. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2013.

摘要:
Radon exhalation rate is crucial in the estimation of radiation risk from various materials. RAD7 only focus on the count of the <sup>218</sup>Po in sniff mode, and is well suited to measure radon exhalation rates. This paper presents a fast method for measuring radon exhalation from medium surface with a ventilation-type accumulation chamber by the RAD7 while making the effects of leakage and back diffusion negligible. The radon exhalation rate can be obtained from the measured values before radioactive equilibrium between Radon and progeny occurs. This method is based on the principle for tracing radon concentration changes by deriving <sup>222</sup>Rn concentrations through <sup>218</sup>Po measurements. Several radon exhalation rate measurements of medium surface have been performed in the Radon Laboratory of the University of South China. The radon exhalation rates obtained by verification experiments are within the accepted values for the reference value. ©2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

This paper will present a simple method for measuring the radon exhalation rate from the medium surface in two cycles and also avoiding the effects of back-diffusion and chamber leakage. The method is based on a combination of the "accumulation chamber" technique and a radon monitor. The radon monitor performs the measurement of the radon concentration inside the accumulation chamber, and then the radon exhalation rate can be obtained by simple calculation. For reducing the systematic error and the statistical uncertainty, too short of total measurement time is not appropriate, and the first cycle time should be about 70 % of the total measurement. The radon exhalation rate from the medium surface obtained through this method is in good agreement with the reference value. This simple method can be applied to develop and improve the instruments for measuring radon exhalation rate. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht.

摘要:
A method was established to quantitatively estimate sources of atmospheric carbonaceous matter, using a combination of radiocarbon technology, linear regression of organic carbon (OC) -K+ and elemental carbon (EC) tracer method. Fractional contributions of fossil fuels, biomass burning, biogenic secondary organic carbon (BSOC) and soil dust to the atmospheric size-resolved carbonaceous matters in Shanghai suburb were estimated using this new method. The fossil carbon contributed most of the OC in particles smaller than 0.49 μm, and its fraction decreased with the increase of particle size. Biomass burning contributed 17–28 % to the OC. The BSOC contributed comparable proportions to the OC in particles smaller than 3.0 μm with the biomass burning, but larger in the particles lager than 3.0 μm. The soil dust contributed least fraction to the OC of each size with a proportion of 2–13 %. The biomass burning and fossil sources shared comparable fraction of the EC in all size range.

In the factorization approach we study the direct CP violation in D0→ρ0(ω)ρ0(ω)→π+π-π+π- (with unpolarized ρ0(ω)) via the ρ-ω mixing mechanism. We find that the CP violation can be enhanced due to a large strong phase difference when the masses of the π+π- pairs are in the vicinity of the ω resonance. The CP violation parameter depends on the effective parameter Nc which includes nonfactorizable effects and is determined by the experimental data. Taking into account double ρ-ω mixing contributions, we find the CP violating asymmetry is larger than these in the cases where no ρ-ω mixing or single ρ-ω mixing is taken into account. We also discuss the possibility to observe the predicted CP violation at BEPCII. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg and Società Italiana di Fisica.

从低层大气的基本属性出发,利用大气颗粒物中放射性核素的衰变特性与转移速率等相关信息,建立了单位体积大气颗粒物中被吸附的放射性粒子数、衰变粒子数和转移粒子数的数学模型,获得了确定低层大气颗粒物平均滞留时间的新方法.该方法解决了当前相关研究中出现的困惑,说明了大气具有有限的自净功能,给出了大气颗粒物中同一衰变链上各核素达到活度平衡的条件及降低平均滞留时间的途径,为大气环境的监测与治理提供了科学依据.

摘要:
We propose a novel method for quickly measuring the radon exhalation rate in open loop. We first obtain the temporal variation of radon concentration in the internal cell of the RAD7 by analyzing the work principle of RAD7. We then obtain the temporal variation of radon concentration in the ventilation-type accumulation chamber when the effects of leakage and back diffusion are neglected. This method uses the measured value before the radon concentration in the ventilation-type accumulation chamber reaches a steady state. The diameter of the air input tube to the ventilation-type accumulation is large enough to keep the differential pressure in the accumulation chamber and outdoors negligible. Short cycle time and large flow rate will be appropriate for reducing measurement error. Several radon exhalation rate measurements of the medium surface have been performed in the Radon Laboratory of the University of South China. The radon exhalation rates obtained by verification experiments are in good agreement with the reference value. This method can be applied to develop and improve the instruments for measuring radon exhalation rate.

摘要:
Thoron exhalation rate can be obtained through the combination of the "accumulation chamber" technique and RAD7. Thoron's rapid decay causes the intake path and the air flow rate to become important factors in calibration. In field conditions, since the flow rate of the internal pump in RAD7 will change as the voltage of the battery decreases, the big drying tube is more suitable for a long measurement than the small drying tube. We developed the method for recalibration of the thoron concentration reading of RAD7 based on the calibration factor for 222Rn, and obtained the thoron exhalation rate from soil surface near by the Radon Laboratory of the University of South China. This method can be applied to develop and improve instruments for measuring the radon exhalation rate.

摘要:
The present study investigated the biosorption capacity of live and dead cells of Bacillus cereus RC-1 for Cd(II). The biosorption characteristics were investigated as a function of initial pH, contact time, and initial cadmium concentration. Equilibrium biosorption was modeled using Langmuir, Freundlich and Redlich-Peterson isotherm equations. It was found that the maximum biosorption capacities calculated from Langmuir isotherm were 31.95. mg/g and 24.01. mg/g for dead cells and live cells, respectively. The kinetics of the biosorption was better described by pseudo-second order kinetic model. Desorption efficiency of biosorbents was investigated at various pH values. These results indicated that dead cells have higher Cd(II) biosorption capacity than live cells. Furthermore, zeta potential, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) studies were carried out to understand the differences in the Cd(II) biosorption behavior for the both biosorbents. The bioaccumulation of Cd(II) by B. cereus RC-1 was found to depend largely on extracellular biosorption rather than intracellular accumulation. Based on the above studies, dead biomass appears to be a more efficient biosorbent for the removal of Cd(II) from aqueous solution. © 2013 Elsevier B.V.

摘要:
We propose a slanting collision scheme for Compton scattering of a laser light against a relativistic electron beam. This scheme is suitable to generate an energy-tunable X/γ-ray source. In this paper, we present theoretical study and simulation of the spectral, spatial and temporal characteristics of such a source. We also describe two terms laser-Compton scattering (LCS) experiments at the 100 MeV Linac of Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, where quasi-monochromatic LCS X-ray energy spectra with peak energies of ∼30 keV are observed successfully. These preliminary investigations are carried out to understand the feasibility of developing an energy-tunable quasi-monochromatic X/γ-ray source, the future Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source. © 2012 Chinese Physical Society and the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and IOP Publishing Ltd.

摘要:
Heating of ions by two Alfven waves propagating along an external magnetic field via nonresonant wave-particle interaction in low-beta plasmas is studied using test-particle simulation. Due to subcyclotron ion resonance, the heating effect of the left-hand polarized Alfven wave pair is 10% greater than that of the right-hand polarized pair. The results show that the perpendicular and parallel (to the external magnetic field) temperatures, as well as the parallel fluid velocity, vary sinusoidally with the phase difference. Furthermore, the magnitude of the oscillations decreases with the ratio of the frequencies of the two waves. When the frequency ratio reaches above 2, the effect of the phase difference vanishes. 摘要:
In this paper, we construct a new phenomenological isospin dependent global neutron nucleus optical model potential. Based on the existing experimental data of elastic scattering angular distributions for neutron as projectile, we obtain a set of the isospin dependent global neutron-nucleus optical model potential parameters, which can basically reproduce the experimental data for target nuclei from (24)mg to Pu-242 with the energy region up to 200 MeV.
