The optimum conditions for the resonance energy transfer between 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine(8-OHdG) and protamine were studied, and a novel method for the determination of 8-OHdG has been developed based on the resonance energy transfer fluorescence quenching effect of protamine.
