The copolymerization of maleic anhydride with N,N’-methylenebisacrylamide allowed synthesizing a sorbent (MaMb) that can be functionalized by amidoacidification (for grafting thiocarbazide) (synthesis of TcMaMb). The two sorbents are tested in batch systems for the removal of thorium from aqueous solutions.
