A turn-on fluorescent probe BR based on rhodamine for trivalent ferric ion( Fe^3+) was synthesized.It was studied that the various factors,such as p H,the water content of the solvent,concentration,interfering ion,affected the fluorescence of BR and Fe^3+complex.And an approach was developed for the detection of trace amount of Fe^3+based on BR as fluorescent probe.The sensing behavior between BR and Fe^3+was studied by Job's titration,which showed a 1 ∶ 2 complex formation.
