水彩画家张小纲从观念到技术都对中国水墨画进行了成功的借鉴。张小纲在水彩画艺术创作中非常重视“意境”的创造,强调审美主体虚静的心胸对于审美观照的重要性,虚实结合营造意境;吸收水墨写意画技术因素,对造型进行简化,注重用笔法度。张小纲对中国画观念与水墨写意技法的借鉴,深化了作品内涵,拓展了水彩艺术的表现力,因之其作品具有独特的时代地位与民族性。
