Urinary N acetyl β D glucosaminidase(NAG) activity and microalbumin(mALB) were determined in 52 patients with non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus(NIDDM).The results showed that NAG activity increased remarkably in NIDDM than in the control and had a significant correlation with mALB.The percentage of increased value of NAG and mALB were 57.7% and 59.6% respectively.Between them there was no significant difference(P>0.05),which suggested that NAG was similar to mALB in sensitivity for diagnosing diabetic nephropathy at its early stage.It se...
