20世纪30年代的都市文学因其复杂的时代背景和政治因素,作品呈现出异彩纷呈的特点,不同的作家笔下塑造出了不同的都市女性形象,给读者留下深刻的印象。她们或是时髦的摩登女郎,或是现代都市人纵情享乐浮光掠影的表征,或是现代都市人对都市生活压力深感苦闷失意的典型,或是在男权主导下之女性自我意识逐步觉醒的象征。透过这些女性形象,可以窥探到现代都市文明的进程、女性自我解放的历程以及都市发展对中国现代文学所产生的影响。

In the 1930s, the urban literature showed colorful characteristics. Different writers described the image of different urban women and gave the readers a deep impression. They are fashionable modem girls, or the characters of modem urban people indulging in enjoyment, or the typical of urban depressions, or the symbol of awakening women under the male domination.
