In ultrawideband (UWB) ground-penetrating radar systems, there is a mutual constraint between a narrow pulsewidth and the high amplitude of pulse signal sources, which stimulates the development of pulsed power sources. To overcome the limitation, this work proposes a pulse generator with the characteristics of UWB, high-amplitude, and bipolar output, which contains a bipolar output circuit combining with the Marx circuit and the pulse narrowing circuit.
