Group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) are a subset of innate immune cells that do not express antigen receptors. ILC2-mediated type 2 responses, which are mainly characterized by the production of interleukin (IL)-5 and IL-13, play key roles in inducing inflammation, protecting against infection, and maintaining tissue homeostasis.
