Based on the researches having done by far, this paper focuses on the impact of field dependence/inde- pendence on English writing. 80 English majors from University of South China are investigated by means of quantitative analysis. Meanwhile, comparison and analysis are made between writings of different cognitive style's testers from the content, organizing, grammar and accuracy in light of the TEM-4.
