This paper introduces a long-thin shaft grinding (L/D>20) control system that consists of the hardware and software. The hardware adopts the initiative follow-rest electromagnetic servo compensating mechanism to realize properly the balance function; implemental mechanism is mounted on the base, which keeps constantly relative position with grinding-wheel.
