A novel functionalization material, 5,11,17,23-4 (4-hydroxyazobenzene)-25,26,27,28-calix [4] arene (p-TTPTA), was synthesized. This material was based on the calix [4] arene and decorated with p-aminobenzoic acid on the edege of the calix [4] arene. The p-TTPTA was characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, SEM and EDS.
