This study was designed to investigate paclitaxel's total efficiency and safety combined with cisplatin in treating advanced esophageal cancer patients. Eighty-eight patients with advanced esophageal cancer were were divided into two groups with different treatment regimens: the control group was treated with 5-fluorouracil combined with cisplatin while the study group was treated with paclitaxel combined with cisplatin.
