To study the influence of tooth profile modification (TPM) on the dynamic characteristics of gear transmission systems, a new dynamics modeling method for a spur gear pair with TPM, namely the equivalent static error method, in which the TPM amount is considered part of the static error of the system, is proposed. The concept of equivalent static transmission error (Delta TE) is proposed, and the calculation method is given. The dynamic equation of the system after TPM is derived.
