In this study, alpha-particle preformation factors in heavy and superheavy nuclei from Th-220 to( 294)Og are investigated. By combing experimental alpha decay energies and half-lives, the alpha-particle preformation factors P-alpha are extracted from the ratios between theoretical alpha decay half-lives calculated using the Two-Potential Approach (TPA) and experimental data. We find that the alpha-particle preformation factors exhibit a noticeable odd-even staggering behavior, and unpaired nucleons inhibit alpha-particle preformation.
