[Objective] To explore the surgical feasibility and clinical outcome of pedicle screw internal fixation for traumatic aflantoaxial instability. [Method] 9 cases with traumatic atlantoaxial instability were treated by C1,2 pedicle screw-rods internal fixation and bone graft fusion. The immediate outcome and complications were observed. [Results] There was no vascular or neural injury found. 9 cases were all followed up. The clinical symptoms were improved to some extend after operation.
