Food contaminates, such as insecticide, may influence the toxicity of nanoparticles (NPs) to intestine. The present study investigated the combined toxicity of TiO(2) NPs and fipronil to male mouse intestine. Juvenile mice (8weeks) were orally exposed to 5.74 mg/kg TiO(2) NPs, 2.5mg/kg fipronil, or both, once a day, for 5days. We found that both TiO(2) NPs and fipronil induced some pathological changes in intestines, accompanying with defective autophagy, but these effects were not obviously enhanced after TiO(2) NP and fipronil co-exposure.
