Vascular endothelial cells are involved in many physiological processes, and the occurrence of endothelial dysfunction induces multiple cardiovascular diseases including atherosclerosis. Recently, the gas signaling molecule hydrogen sulfide has been shown to be an anti-atherosclerotic. Endogenous and exogenous hydrogen sulfide promotes angiogenesis and inhibits the release of adhesion molecules.
