Ursolic acid (UA) is a pentacyclic triterpenoid with diverse biological activities, especially in the fields of cardiovascular and diabetes treatment. However, its application is hindered by low bioavailability and poor solubility in water. Consequently, reseacher have focused on designing UA derivatives to address these issues. This paper provides an overview of the development of UA derivatives and their recent advancements as regents for combating cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
