Neuropathy target esterase (NTE) is an endoplasmic reticulum membrane-associated phospholipase B, which is essential for embryonic and nervous system development. However, the regulation of NTE at the protein level had not been thoroughly investigated. Our previous study showed that NTE was degraded not only by the macroautophagy-lysosome pathway but also by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway.
