An air-stable hypervalent organobismuth (III) perfluorooctanesulfonate was synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic techniques, and found to exhibit high catalytic efficiency towards one-pot Mannich-type reaction of ketones with aromatic aldehydes and aromatic amines in water.
