Specifically exposed planes could play a crucial role in the chemical activity of nanomaterials. The morphology and structure of nano-structured WO3 particles with {020} exposure planes were successfully controlled via hydrothermal synthesis technology by adjusting the synthesis temperature and time. Additionally, the gas-sensing properties of sensors fabricated using these WO3 particles were investigated to detect different volatile gases.
