A high performance electromagnetic wire was prepared by using nickel-plated copper wire coated with molten glass, and then its morphology and dimension were characterized. The results show that in using tension membrane method to coat the surface of 2 mm-diameter of copper wire with glass film, when the glass film thickness is about 50μm, the electromagnetic wire has good winding toughness.
