High-purity Mn<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf>was prepared from low-grade rhodochrosite ore (LGRO). The Mn recovery efficiency was more than 97% with the blended precipitant of Na<inf>2</inf>CO<inf>3</inf>and NH<inf>4</inf>HCO<inf>3</inf>(1:1 mol mol<sup>-1</sup>). The total Mn content (TMC) of product increased with increase of decomposition time and temperature.
