In order to deal with the large amount of transmission data of the collaborative feature modelling, a new feature-based descriptive semantic-collaborative modeling method was proposed in this paper. Firstly the semantic description of the features for a product model was analyzed. Then through extensive Markup Language (XML) to describe incremental feature and use it for data exchange. At last, features recognition mechanism was used to parse XML data information, separating modelling function from implementation method of the CAD system that participates in collaborative modelling.
