医学英语中多用后置定语结构。介词短语、不定式短语、分词短语、从句、同位语等都可放在名词后面，充当定语。在阅读和翻译医学文献时，正确理解后置定语及其所修饰的中心词可有效提高医学专业生的学术英语能力。
