A voltage-programmed pixel circuit is presented for active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays. The circuit contains seven amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide (a-IGZO) thin film transistors (TFTs) and one capacitor. In the compensation stage, the circuit extracts the threshold voltages of the driving TFT and OLED, and obtains a mobility dependent discharge voltage. The circuit requires only one capacitor to compensate for variations of the electrical characteristics of the driving TFT, i.e. variations of threshold voltage and mobility, and the degradation of the OLED.
