The research of high voltage transmission line ice block has great challenge, which is different from regions and climate disturbance. In this paper, a new method is proposed to detect the thickness of ice in a specific area (Xingyi Guizhou). For obtaining the thickness of High pressure wire and ice, the mean filter and histogram equalization are used to image preprocessing in order to reduce noise interference, and then the Canny edge operator is used to deal with binarization, and the Hough line is detected.
