Heavy metal pollution seriously threatens the environment and human health. The biosorption of heavy metals has attracted worldwide attention due to its cost-effectiveness and environmental friendliness. It is significant to develop biosorbents with excellent adsorption performance. Sphingopyxis is widely used in the removal of various organic pollutants, but its potential application in heavy metal adsorption has been largely overlooked.
