Natural pyrite, as an ubiquitous mineral in the reducing environments, shows great potential on the treatment of wastewater polluted by heavy metals. In the present work, a dynamic leaching experiment was carried out to investigate the removal efficiency of U(VI) by natural pyrite under the oxygen rich conditions with/without bicarbonate ions. Experimental results shows that pyrite oxidation can significantly remove U(VI) from the solution under the oxygen rich conditions with/without bicarbonate ions.
