Utilizing in-situ reaction between titanium and TiB2, in-situ synthesis of ceramic particles reinforced coating by laser cladding was implemented on TC4 titanium alloy surface to improve the surface mechanical property. Surface morphology and microstructure were investigated by scan electron microscopy(SEM). Ceramic phase and its distribution were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD). Micro-hardness of the coating was also tested.
