Downregulation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-dependent heat shock proteins (HSPs) can significantly reduce the tumorigenicity of cancer cells and overcome heat endurance to achieve high-performance mild temperature (≤45 °C) photothermal therapy (PTT).
