When synchronous tracking the uniform plastic deformation of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) by infrared thermography, several particular thermal effects features were observed: (1) at the beginning of the elastic deformation, the temperature has a tiny decrease; (2) then the temperature becomes to increase during the plastic process; (3) in large plastic deformation phase, the temperature rise is related to the drawing ratio, less dependence of the stretching rate.
