The Mycoplasma genitalium adhesion protein (MgPa), the most important outer membrane protein of M. genitalium, plays a vital role in the adhesion to and invasion of host cells by M. genitalium. Identification of MgPa receptors will help elucidate the pathogenic mechanism of M. genitalium. However, the receptor protein of MgPa has not been reported to date.
