Abstract: Boron carbide (B4C)/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) neutron absorbing composite materials were prepared by liquid phase sintering method at 380˚C. The themogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC) was adopted to characterize the sintering process while X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) techniques were used to investigate the phase constitution and microstructure of the composites.
