TNF-α and IFN-γ are the major pro-inflammatory cytokines in the β-cell destruction. However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. The present study used a murine insulinoma cell line MIN6 for further investigation of the effect of Caspase-3 on the cytokines-induced pancreatic β-cell apoptosis and analyzed the mechanisms involved in the activation of Caspase-3.
