Chlamydia psittaciis a well known zoonotic pathogen that can lead to severe respiratory disease in poultry, pet birds and humans. Development of an effective and safe vaccine would be the most effective way to control C. psittaci infection. In this study, we used bacterial ghosts (BGs) as a delivery vehicle to evaluate the protective effects of major outer membrane protein (MOMP) and macrophage infectivity potentiator (MIP) DNA vaccines in mice.
