Objective To prepare, characterize and evaluate the antioxidant activity of rutin-liposome(RL). Methods Liposomes of rutin were prepared by film dispersion method and the encapsulation efficiency(EE) was determined by RP-HPLC. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) were injuried by H2O2 and treated with either free aqueous rutin or the RL delivery systems. The viability of HUVECs was determined by MTT and ELISA.
