The optimum conditions for the resonance energy transfer between α-naphthol and Triton X-100 were studied, and a novel method for the determination of α-naphthol has been developod based on the resonance energy transfer fluorescence quenching effect of Triton X-100, the fluorescence quenching intensity of Triton X-100 at 300.8 nm was proportional to the concentration of α-naphthol.
