Diabetes has always been a global health issue of great concern. The current treatment methods include oral and injection hypoglycaemia drugs, which have certain toxic and side effects. Therefore, there is a growing need for discovering more effective and safer antidiabetic agents. Great concern has arisen from scientists in these years, due to the finding that apigenin is an edible plant-derived flavonoid with no toxicity.
