In order to investigate the mechanism of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) influencing sludge characteristics, variations of extractable EPS from municipal sewage sludge by acid/alkaline pretreatment and gamma-ray irradiation were studied. The changes in constituents of EPS were analyzed by UV-vis spectra and SEM images. The effects of alkaline pretreatment and gamma-ray irradiation on the functional groups in EPS were investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. Results showed that the extractable EPS increased clearly with increasing irradiation dose from 0 to 15 kGy. UV-vis spectra indicated that a new absorption band from 240 nm to 300 nm existed in all irradiated samples, apart from acid condition. The results of FTIR spectroscopic analysis indicated that, irradiation influenced major functional groups in EPS, such as protein and polysaccharide, and these effects were clearer under alkaline condition. SEM images provided that after alkaline hydrolysis, gamma-ray irradiation was more effective in resulting in the sludge flocs and cells broken, compared with acid pretreatment (pH 2.50). 摘要:
According to the problems as low efficiency, aging of organic heat transfer material and frequent accidents in the operation of the coil organic heat transfer material heater, with the finite time thermodynamics, this paper studies the actual processes including combustion process, flow and heat transfer process, considers the irreversible factors as combustion condition, the fuel characteristics, flow resistance and heat transfer temperature difference, derives the calculation formula of energy loss for three processes and to determine the minimum energy loss. Based on this, this paper proposes energy-saving optimization strategy and gives examples, the results accord with the analysis. In design and operation, the outlet flue gas temperature of furnace, flue gas temperature and flow velocity of hot oil are important.

摘要:
According to the improved 3 scales (0, 1, 2) Analytic Hierarchy Process (E-AHP) and Extenics theory, an evaluation model is built to evaluate the slope stability. The model takes into account nine indexes that affect the slope stability. The classical matter element and extensional matter elemen are established by collectting actural data. And combined with the specific example, this model accurately calculated the stability state of the slope. The results shown that it not only can take advantage of Extenics Matter-Element theory and the correlation function to study the relationship between index and slope stability, but also can avoid the shortcomings of the traditional AHP judgment matrix inconsistent. It is a new model to evaluate the slope stability.

摘要:
Waste management of several typical construction projects was investigated in Hunan area; the project differences were analyzed on the waste amount and components, the increasing environmental impact of construction wastes was discussed. The disposal advices were given on the aspects of reducing, resources and eco-friendship of construction wastes. The environmental impact of construction wastes is permanent and accumulated, and the components are increasing diversified, so, the secondary contaminations are also increasing severe.

摘要:
This paper carries out dynamic tests of self-compacting prestressed concrete beams, 10 simply-supported and 5 free, then simulates modal analyses. It shows that, via comprehensive analyses of the first four natural frequencies and modes, the simple support can not achieve the ideal confinement effect for dynamic tests. Especially the tested high frequencies and modes are obviously different from corresponding theoretical values, instead the same as elastic-supported beams. The support plays the role of elastic one. The conclusions will provide meaningful references to further researches on prestressed concrete beams such as improving the accuracy of tests, dynamic analyses and theoretical frequency calculation.

This paper firstly presents the operation principle of individually ventilated cages (IVC) system. Measurements on micro-environment of IVC system in laboratory animal room at University of South China are conducted to attain the internal environment parameters (Temperature, humidity, air velocity, air cleanliness and noise). Research results show that internal micro-environment parameters basically meet national standards about the barrier environment, but internal air distribution is uneven. In IVC system, air velocities in the edge side are higher than in the middle side, and the maximum air velocity is about 10% larger than the minimum value. Temperature in internal micro-environment depends on indoor temperatures which IVC system located in, and there has a close correlation between air velocity and temperatures. Internal environment evaluation could provide the first-hand research materials for guiding the breeding and management of laboratory animal.

There are two conventional techniques i.e. the approach based on structural testing and non-damaged detecting method, of which the former is partial to structural integrity analysis while the latter focuses on partial detection. The damage identification approach is discussed from the perspective of detection medium in the paper. And non-destructive testing in civil engineering (NDT-CE), of which the research status and existing issues are presented, can be attributed into three categories as following: one is based on the stress wave theory, such as impact-echo method, acoustic emission technique and ultrasonic pulse method; one employs the mechanism of electromagnetic wave propagation on behalf of GPR; one uses radiography as the medium, for instance, infrared imaging and computerized tomography. It is emphasized that ground penetrating radar (GPR) has been applied in practice and studied more and more, and moreover, the prospects in the field are provided.

Using the numerical simulation method, this thesis studies the radon concentration distribution in downwind area of the flat ground uranium tailings impoundment with and without vegetation on the beach face under the wind speed of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0m/s. The numerical results show that the radon concentration decreases gradually with the increasing wind speed and distance from uranium tailings impoundment. As the wind speed is 0.5m/s, the radon concentration is higher in downwind area of uranium tailings impoundment, and accumulation range is larger and local pollution also becomes more serious. However, radon concentration and accumulation range falls rapidly with wind speed increased to 4.0m/s. At the same wind speed, radon concentration under the condition of beach face with vegetation is higher than the one without vegetation within 600m range of uranium tailings impoundment along the downwind direction, but radon concentration is lower under the condition of beach face with vegetation out of 600m range. It illustrates that vegetation can inhibit radon diffusion to some extent.

The increasing cost associated with high-quality materials has lead to the need for sediments to be treated and then used in road construction in the context of durable development. Therefore, the modification and stabilisation of Dunkirk marine sediments by using lime is necessary to study for their potential use in road construction. Based on the physical characteristics of untreated sediments, a series of laboratory tests to investigate the geotechnical properties of untreated sediments and lime-treated sediments, such as unconfined compressive strength tests, standard oedometer tests, direct shear tests and triaxial tests, were performed. Lime was added in percentages of 3% and 6%, by weight of dry sediments. The test results show a significant improvement in unconfined compressive strength and shear strength due to the addition of lime. From the strain–stress relationship of compressive strength tests, it can be found that the failure mode of solidified sediments develops gradually from plastic failure to brittle failure, while the failure strength increases and the failure strain decreases with lime content. Compared with untreated sediments, the shear strength parameters of solidified sediments determined by direct shear tests, such as internal friction angle and cohesion, are increased owing to the pozzolanic reaction between lime and clay minerals. Using the oedometer apparatus, it is observed that after lime treatment, the preconsolidation pressure, the coefficient of consolidation and the compression index are increased, while the swelling index is decreased. The characteristics of the deviator stress–axial strain relation and the pore water pressure distribution under different confining stresses are compared with untreated and treated sediments, and the effect of lime content on cohesion and internal friction angle determined by triaxial tests is discussed.
