In this study, a technical index system for nuclear accident emergency response measures was established and comprehensively evaluated by studying the impact of time, ventilation speed, and leakage speed on the radiation consequences after a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) in a marine reactor. The weight of each index was calculated by the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), and the weight of the radiation protection measure in the second-level index emergency measure was 0.625, accounting for the maximum proportion. The weights of improving radionuclide detection technology in chambers, improving detection capability, and improving the diagnosis efficiency of radiation damage in the three-level indicator emergency measures were 0.4442, 0.4384, and 0.4521, respectively, accounting for the maximum proportions. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was used to quantify and comprehensively evaluate the index system of emergency measures. The quantitative evaluation result was 82.8 points, indicating that the evaluation result was adequate. Therefore, the nuclear emergency response measure based on the radiation consequences of a marine reactor LOCA is reasonable and feasible. It provides valuable measures and practical guidance for the emergency response of a marine reactor LOCA, and dramatically reduces the harm of radiation to staff and the environment.

AIM: To determine the level of critical cultural competence (CCC) among Chinese clinical nurses and explore its influencing factors. BACKGROUND: Previous research has only focused on the theoretical model of CCC and the development of assessment tools; however, no large-scale study has been conducted on the level of clinical nurses' CCC and its influencing factors. METHOD: Clinical nurses in 14 Level A tertiary hospitals (n = 3858) were surveyed using Almutairi's critical cultural competence scale (CCCS). Descriptive, univariate and multivariate analyses were performed. RESULTS: The mean score of CCC was 4.44 (SD = 0.33). Critical empowerment (M = 4.85, SD = 0.58) and critical awareness (M = 3.57, SD = 0.99) had the highest and lowest scores, respectively. Female nurses, nurses in the nursing department and nurses with higher positions had higher CCC. CONCLUSION: The CCC of clinical nurses can be strengthened through targeted training, especially considering the fact that male and low-ranking nurses who had the lower level of CCC work in different departments. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING MANAGEMENT: Hospital administrators should pay attention to the importance of culture and cultural differences among different countries or ethnic groups. Creating an equal and fair nursing environment and encouraging nurses to provide critical cultural nursing is important.

This is the first study to assess nurses' attitudes and skills regarding grief counseling for bereaved family members of patients who died from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Wuhan, China. Using a cross-sectional design, 412 nurses selected through convenience sampling completed a demographic characteristics survey, Attitudes of Grief Counseling Scale, (AGCS) and Skills of Grief Counseling Scale (SGCS). Average AGCS score was 32.89 (SD = 9.46), with an overall percentage rate score of 65.6%. Factors influencing attitudes toward grief counseling included other grief counseling skills, educational level, communication skills, and training related to grief counseling (p < 0.05). Average SGCS score was 18.81 (SD = 4.25), with an overall percentage rate score of 58.7%. Factors influencing skills of grief counseling included responsibilities and roles, frequency of contact with the bereaved, and positive view of grief counseling (p < 0.05). Nurses' attitudes and skills regarding grief counseling were low, indicating an urgent need to improve grief counseling.

Aims & ScopeMycopathologia is an international journal devoted to the study of the role of fungi in disease and biodeterioration. As such, the journal covers a range of topics that is unique in breadth and depth, including original articles and critical reviews in the fields of medical and veterinary mycology, plant mycology (crop protection), mycotoxicosis, mycetism, entomopathogenic fungi, environmental aeromycology, and applied industrial mycology. The journal also contains selected papers on systematics, taxonomy and the basic as well as molecular biology of fungi involved in any of the above fields. In addition to full-length reports of original research, Mycopathologia publishes short communications and interesting case reports, together with literature reviews. Letters to the editor on topics of interest to mycologists are also published. These may include debates, disagreements, or further commentary on published works or opinions expressed in this or other publications. Molecular mycology: Current mycological studies at the forefront of technology focus on the molecular level of life. These studies involve the diagnosis, treatment, immunology, ecology and epidemiology of mycotic diseases. The development of molecular biology has resulted in unprecedented knowledge of biological mechanisms, new scientific techniques, new tools, and a new breed of mycologists. Therefore a proper technical evaluation of these papers requires an editor and referees with specific expertise in this area. To achieve this competent peer review, a new section, molecular mycology has been created for the journal. Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a group of complex neurodevelopmental disorders, including autistic disorder, Asperger's syndrome, pervasive developmental disorder and childhood disintegrative disorder. Mitochondria not only provide neurons with energy in the form of ATP to sustain neuron growth, proliferation and neurodevelopment, but also regulate neuron apoptosis, intracellular calcium ion (Ca(2+)) homeostasis, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) clearance. Due to their postmitotic state and high energy-demanded feature, neurons are particularly prone to mitophagy and mitochondrial disfunction. Mitophagy, a selective autophagy, is critical for sustaining mitochondrial turnover and quality control via eliminating unwanted and dysfunctional mitochondria in neurons. Dysfunctional mitochondria and dysregulated mitophagy have been closely associated with the onset of ASDs. In this review, we summarize the mechanism of mitophagy and its role in neurons, and the consequence of mitophagy dysfunction in ASDs. Deeper appreciation of the role of mitophagy in ASDs pathology is required for developing new therapeutic approaches.

Performance shaping factors (PSFs) describe the influence of given contexts on human performance and are used to quantify human error probabilities (HEPs). HEPs are calculated within human reliability analysis, which is a part of probabilistic risk assessment. One challenge lies in the fact that the dependencies among PSFs are neglected, which leads to the poor estimation of HEPs. The objective of this research is to apply a system dynamics approach to the modeling and analysis of the dependencies of PSFs within the standardized plant analysis of risk-human reliability analysis method. Dependencies are built on the causalities of PSFs and are determined by the mutual information theory and the analytic hierarchy process. The method is demonstrated on three human failure events. The first one is the failure of initiating reactor coolant system depressurization. The second one is the failure of throttling the high-pressure injection to reduce reactor coolant system pressure. The third one is the failure of diagnosing the steam generator tube rupture. The sensitive analysis results show that our model is reasonable and robust when dependencies are taken into account.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a devastating medical illness, for which currently available pharmacotherapies have poor efficacy. Accumulating evidence from clinical and preclinical animal investigations supports that ketamine exhibits a rapid and persistent effect against PTSD, though the underlying molecular mechanism remains to be clarified. In this literature review, we recapitulate the achievements from early ketamine studies to the most up-to-date discoveries, with an effort to discuss an inclusive therapeutic role of ketamine for PTSD treatment and its possible therapeutic mechanism. Ketamine seems to have an inimitable mechanism of action entailing glutamate modulation via actions at the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) and alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid (AMPA) receptors, as well as downstream activation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathways to potentiate synaptic plasticity.

Objective: To clarify the correlation between temperature and the COVID-19 pandemic in Hubei. Methods: We collected daily newly confirmed COVID-19 cases and daily temperature for six cities in Hubei Province, assessed their correlations, and established regression models. Results: For temperatures ranging from -3.9 to 16.5 degrees C, daily newly confirmed cases were positively correlated with the maximum temperature similar to 0-4 days prior or the minimum temperature similar to 11-14 days prior to the diagnosis in almost all selected cities. An increase in the maximum temperature 4 days prior by 1 degrees C was associated with an increase in the daily newly confirmed cases (similar to 129) in Wuhan. The influence of temperature on the daily newly confirmed cases in Wuhan was much more significant than in other cities. Conclusion: Government departments in areas where temperatures range between -3.9 and 16.5 degrees C and rise gradually must take more active measures to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

Faced with increasingly strict carbon emission control, high-emission enterprises need scientific and rational management systems and methods to strengthen carbon emission reduction management. Among the many management systems and methods, the carbon budget has become an effective emission reduction management tool, allowing the planning of carbon emissions and emission reduction activities and rational arrangement of economic inputs. However, judging from the research status and business practices in China and abroad, there is no general carbon budget system to guide the development of carbon emission and emission reduction activities. Based on this background, this paper first attempts to construct an enterprise carbon budget system comprising four sub-budgets: carbon emission, carbon emission reduction and cost, carbon emission rights trading, and carbon emission reduction net profit/loss. It draws on the idea of interactive control to consider the impact of changes in carbon prices, energy prices, and policy guidelines on carbon emission reductions and losses. A carbon budget management system based on interactive control is then constructed and applied to China National Aviation Holding Air China Group (AC Aviation). The research results show that the carbon budget system based on interactive control can dynamically adjust carbon emission reduction behavior based on changes in carbon and energy prices to make carbon budgeting a more viable carbon reduction tool and institutional arrangement.

Enterprise innovation activities are embedded in multi-networks, where middle manager plays an important role. Using the questionnaire data, this paper tests the influences of multi-networks, namely administrative network, knowledge network, and social network, on enterprise innovation, and middle manager’s effects are discussed as well. The results show that triple networks have significant effects on enterprise innovation performance, and through promoting emotional resonance, knowledge sharing, and behaviour resonance among employees, middle manager moderates the relationship of networks and innovation. This paper advanced the research on enterprise innovation mechanism based on multi-network embeddedness and provides some insights about middle managers’ innovation role in enterprise.

Fatigue is one of the most distressing symptoms in renal transplant patients, causing functional impairment and worsening their quality of life. However, the mechanism by which fatigue affects physical activity is unclear. A cross-sectional study using a convenient sampling approach was utilized to investigate 665 kidney transplant recipients recruited from the transplantation centers of six general hospitals from July and September 2019. Structural equation modeling was used to examine the interaction among fatigue, fear of movement, physical self-efficacy, and physical activity. Our study found fatigue was directly negatively associated with physical activity and had an indirect impact on physical activity through the mediating effects of physical self-efficacy and fear of movement. These variables accounted for 44.4% of the variation in physical activity. Our findings alert healthcare providers for the importance of fatigue management for physical activity and focused attention on fear of movement and physical self-efficacy in renal transplant recipients.
