In summary, this work reports the fabrication and physical characterization of a highly conductive and flexible thin film electrode by using an inverted layer-by-layer deposition method. FE-SEM images shows that chopped CFs are fully surrounded and mechanically supported by the PDMS polymer; and the AgNWs tightly wrapping on the carbon fibers surface provides a faster transfer of electrons leading to superior electric conductivity for the PDMS/AgNWs/CFs thin film electrode. Flexible electrodes with high conductivity and mechanical properties play an important role in many essential electronic devices. Herein, we report the fabrication of flexible and conductive PDMS/AgNWs/CFs thin film by using a simple inverted layer-by-layer deposition method. In this structure, conductive carbon fiber (CF) networks embedding in the elastic polymers will help improve the ability to resist deformation of pure polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film.
